is a website dedicated to one of my younger brothers, Matthew, who died last year. My family and I run races (not very fast, mind) to raise money for charity in his name, and to try and bring something good from the loss we've suffered as a family. We have one main cause that we support, the East Anglian Air Ambulance, but every year we choose one or two other charities in addition. So far we have raised just over £6,500.
The East Anglian Air Ambulance receives no Government funding, and relies totally on the generosity of people like you to keep it in flight. In supporting the Air Ambulance you would be helping people, like my brother, to have a chance where they might otherwise have none.
This time around we are also supporting the Gorilla Organisation. In September Mum and Chris (in his first race ever!) will be running the Great Gorilla Run in London, along with 998 other people. They'll all be dressed as gorillas. The Gorilla Organisaton works hard with local families, helping to remove the poverty that means the local people have to encroach onto (and destroy) the gorilla habitat. There are new fewer than 720 mountain gorillas left in the wild, and these intelligent, gentle creatures need all the help they can get.
If you'd like to support Mum and Chris in their endeavours, please buy one of our rather funky wristbands! They are £1.50 each (free postage). Better still, buy ten...
