Running For Matthew

About us

Here's a little about the runners in my family*
dfgdfg

My Mum, Adele: She wants to think of something to put here herself. I have pointed out that I've written everyone else's bit, but never mind. Anyway, in the meantime - she's our Mum and she's brilliant.

My sister #1, Bryonie: eldest sister and organiser extraordinaire; author of Matthew's blog and probably the only person in the country to carry on using Wii Fit for more than about three days after purchase, Bryonie has proved herself a natural at running, which irritates the rest of us a bit because she's better than us and we've been doing it for years....

Bryonie likes writing, yoga and keeping chickens, and is currently talking herself out of a knee injury.

My sister #2, Lowri: middle sister and all round brilliant calming influence. She can smooth out situations like no other person I've ever met. Maker of the best cup of tea in Norfolk and general motivational coach, we're all a bit rubbish without her. We have all the best intentions to run but if Lowri's not there, we usually talk ourselves into having a biscuit instead.

Lowri likes her chickens (super-laying ex battery types) and has a bit of an addiction to ebay, resulting in many dubious purchases such as an odd looking lamp, several rugs and... a conservatory.

And finally sister # 3, me! (Hannah): Youngest sister and bodger-of-websites, I've got a bigger stride than the rest and so have to run slo-mo to keep the steady pace. Think Neil Armstrong's "small step" combined with Mr Soft from those old softmint adverts and you're halfway there. I'm also the poor sod who has to run with a pushchair when babysitters are not forthcoming.

Expect lots of pictures of frizzy hair and moaning about damaged knees.

Oh, in case you need some help, I'm the one in the silly hat. With the gormless expression. On the left.

Matthew's partner, Holly: was part of Matthew's life for six years, they were living together for five. In her time the fastest runner in her school, Holly has just started running with us and is enjoying it (we hope!). She's also managed to cut down all the way down to five cigarettes a day which, considering what's going on right now, deserves a medal quite frankly; and is as lovely a person as you'd ever hope to meet.

*There are lots of others working behind the scenes who deserve a mention... our brothers, Alex and James, our Dad, David, brothers-in-law Chris, David and Antony and our thousands of nieces and nephews. They are putting in a sterling effort cheering us on, holding our jumpers, fetching bags of frozen peas and making repeated calls to NHS Direct. Couldn't do it without them, thankyouverymuch.
